Nicola DELON | Encore Heureux Architectes | Paris

Nicola Delon (1977) studied at the Toulouse School of Architecture, the University of Montréal and the McGill University. In 2001, together with Julien Choppin, he founded the collective of architects Encore Heureux, awarded in 2006 as the best young French design studio in Nouveaux Albums des Jeunes Architectes.
Encore Heureux Architectes claims a generalist practice to shape building as well as installations, playgrounds, or exhibitions. In 2016, SĂ©bastien Eymard join in as a third partner. Currently the team include about fifteen designers from various backgrounds. Their works aim at stimulating the unexpected and optimizing consumption, by overcoming specializations and reformulating the customer’s demand. Furthermore, the Encore Heureux Architectes consider time and uses as project’s conditions, because “(…) the inauguration is a beginning, not an end. It marks a step in the course of a story that we, the creators, should be held partially responsible for, by definition as much as by conviction. Today more than ever, architects car not avoid their responsibility, their liability, toward the world that comes. The need and have to imagine what will be tomorrow, and what tomorrow will be”.
Last 27 october 2017 “Infinite Spaces”, the proposal submitted by Encore Heureux has been selected to represent the French pavillon during the 16th Internationale Biennale of Architecture in Venice.
