The course explores in depth a meaningful chapter of the history of culture, which is a pivotal element of the education and the profession of architects. The course sets two primary objectives:

During the course, the main architects active in Rome in the 15th and 16th centuries will be covered. Their work will be interpreted in light of the course topic.

Programma
The course belongs to the category of elective courses and is therefore conceived as an in-depth study of some themes which are intertwined with the institutional courses of Architectural history. The lectures will be dedicated to the history of architecture in Rome in the 16th century, which will be framed in the European early modern cultural context. The theme of the course for the academic year 2024-2025 is: Study of Antiquity and Ruinaissance Rome.During the course, the main architects active in Rome in the 15th and 16th centuries will be covered.
