Organized within the framework of the European project POSEIDON – POSitive Energy Initiatives in Districts fOr Neutral Mediterranean Cities, funded by the Driving Urban Transition (DUT) Partnership, the event will be an opportunity to share methodologies, digital tools, technical solutions and participatory approaches aimed at transforming existing neighborhoods into positive energy districts. Particular attention will be given to the climatic, environmental and social characteristics of Mediterranean cities as well as to the role of modelling, simulation and citizen engagement in decision-making processes.
The program will feature contributions from national and international speakers, including representatives from:
- ENEA
- IREC – Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya
- Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM)

Through discussion on research topics and practical experiences related to PED planning, the event will showcase the POSEIDON Tool and its application to the Testaccio District (Rione di Testaccio), together with the POSEIDON Policy Toolkit, designed to facilitate knowledge transfer and support the replication of the solutions developed within the project.
At the end of the day, a guided tour of the Testaccio District will allow participants to explore intervention scenarios and possible pathways towards the implementation of a positive energy district.
The event will also involve the non-profit association “Comunità Sostenibile – Testaccio Green” of the Consulta Rione XX and the Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio APS, which will conclude the day with a piano and flute concert.
